Why I should live in SoCal

My closest friends know that the one place I would move to in a heartbeat is Southern California. And that's not recently, it's been that way since forever. I don't know why, maybe it was the glitz and glamour of Hollywood that got me started on Southern California. But, watching television and movies made me think Southern California was America's hotspot to live.

This past winter, I finally visited California, and loved it! Honestly, I wasn't sure I totally would, but now I know that it's the place to be. We went during the Rose Bowl, which sucked a little because it was crazy crowded, but overall, it was great!

Here are my reasons to why I should live in Southern California, or "SoCal"

REASON #1: Disneyland Rocks!

Disneyland is not a far drive from Los Angeles, and it's pretty sweet. By living there, I can go whenever I want and during the least crowded times of year, e.g. not during the Rose Bowl or summer. Plus, the Downtown Disney area is great. It has the Rainforest Cafe and the World of Disney, perfect for gifts for my family. And, the Matterhorn! I mean, come on!!! You can seriously climb this thing if you wanted!

REASON #2: Name-dropping

It doesn't matter who you are: if you ever met someone famous or saw someone famous, you would drop their name at a party automatically. Come on, we all do it. And by living in SoCal, the possibility of name-dropping is sky high. For example, on the Universal Studios tour, Anthony Anderson (Kangaroo Jack, Law & Order) was right next to me! And, Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and John Goodman (Big Lebowski, Monster's Inc.) actually talked to us after their show in the Kodak Theatre! Yes, it's a true story, ask any LHSGB member who went on that trip. So, if I ever came back to PA, I could name drop! And who knows, maybe I could be the one being name dropped!

REASON #3: 90210 and Rodeo Drive

For a girl who loves designer trends and the high style of living, Beverly Hills is where I want to be! The most famous zip code in the world and the most expensive road in the world combined are awesome. The best shopping, the best homes, the best weather, all in one place. All my favorites are here, and the homes are wonderful. For a girl who is truly a princess, this is where she should live...

REASON#4: HOLLYWOOD!

Sure, Hollywood is nowhere near what it used to be. To be honest, Hollywood can be downright scary at nighttime. But, Hollywood is where stars are made and born. There is so much to do there, so much to see. So much nightlife and fun times all around. So much history is buried there too: The Max Factor Building, The Walk of Fame, Hollywood & Vine; it's all there. All those places we hear about right at your fingertips. And even if Hollywood isn't what I dreamed it would be, it still the place where dreams are made of.

REASON #5: The beauty

It's easy to forget that this area of California is nestled in a Valley. And the mountains are just so beautiful! Sure, there's smog, but California is known for it's beautiful landscapes, and that holds true even in Los Angeles. Outside of LA, there are the majestic mountains and peaceful beaches that make you feel truly at home.

So that's why I want to live in California. The opportunities there are endless and I think I would be well-suited to live there. And, the weather is GOOD all year round! Seriously, I went there for Christmas and wore flip-flops! California is where I want to be, and one day I'm going to live there. One day...
